I have never had a credit card before. How can I get one?
Applying for a credit card in the US usually requires a US credit history. However, there are still beginner credit cards for people who do not have a credit history. Here are two beginner credit card options:
If you have an SSN: Discover it® Cash Back Credit Card.
If you do not have an SSN: Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards. You might have to go to a BoA branch in person to apply if you don’t have an SSN.

Once you build up your credit history with a beginner credit card (e.g. 6 months of credit history), and if you successfully get an SSN, you can try to apply for more advanced credit cards, and here are some examples:
